There's no fancy flashing neon sign or even a grand entrance to Cupidy Massage Parlour in Bangkok. So much so that on your first visit you might think that your Taxi driver has mistakenly taken a wrong turn, simply because he guides his vehicle straight you into a dingy underground parking lot.
But you'd be forgiven for thinking you were coming to some erotic entertainment complex. It certainly looked that way on the brochures that get thrust upon your person on the city streets.
This particular massage salon seems to be one of the most advertised you come across in the city. It appears that every Tuk Tuk and Taxi Driver keep a small colour brochure with them at all times to lure potential foreign customers here.
If you should show even the slightest bit of interest, these guys will offer to take you to the parlour right away or at the very least, come and collect you later at your hotel or any other predetermined location. It is best to reject their offer but take the brochure anyway politely.
Tuk Tuk and Taxi drivers get paid for bringing new clients to the salon, and the cost gets promptly added to the price of your service without you even realising it. It's when you become streetwise that you become aware that you got taken for a ride of a different kind. Best to travel later to the parlour on your own steam.
Things you need to know about Cupidy
Despite what some tourists may have said about Cupidy being standoffish or uncool to its overseas customers, many visitors find the management and staff here to be extremely farang friendly. A younger generation of foreigners wanting to explore the soapy massage scene for the first time will find this to be a great place. As a newbie, this is the best place to gain valuable experience.
As with any soapy massage parlour in Thailand, you always have to be on your guard against unscrupulous staff wanting to take you for a ride where the money is their only motive. If at any time you are unhappy with the price quoted, quietly walk away. Any arguments don't work well in Thailand. The likelihood in situations like this, (nine out of ten) the Papasan will come running up behind you to offer you a much better rate.
Not only that, but you'll find some of the best-looking girls here. Once you've made the bold move to step inside, you'll immediately notice a giant fishbowl of girls to your left as you enter the premises. There could easily be up to one hundred or more girls during peak times.

What you can expect at Cupidy Massage
All the girls sit patiently and passionately in long rows right to the back wall in this big glass booth. The younger and prettier girls sit in the front rows and the older they get, the further back they sit—each girl displaying a plastic round disk with a number engraved on the face for easy identification.
Outside the fishbowl, you'll see a small constituency of new arrivals. These girls are generally referred to as side-liners and in many cases, even prettier than the glass booth girls. Should none of the girls you see on the ground floor appeal to you (though I doubt very much) you can ask to see the superstar girls upstairs. Bear in mind that the newer, younger and prettier the girl, the deeper you have to dig in your pocket. Then again, I am sure that all this makes perfect sense.
The cost to enjoy a ninety-minute massage with a fishbowl girl is about 2,000 Baht and a side-liner girl about 2,500 Baht respectively. You will have to ask the Mamasan or Papasan what the cost would be for a superstar girl. After you have made a choice, you will be led upstairs to a large clean room with a big bathtub and bed. The girls begin with a body wash followed by a soapy body rub, and the rest is up to you. Whatever that maybe, you are sure to have a great time.

Getting to Cupidy Massage Parlour
You'll find Cupidy on the ground floor of the Plaza Entertainment Complex on Petchburi Road, opposite Sukhumvit Soi 3 at the Makkasan Junction. As I pointed out before, the approach to the parlour in the underground parking lot looks more like a tradesman's entrance than a swanky soapy massage salon.
Your only concern should be that the service is excellent, the place is clean, and the price is right. Tell the driver to drop you off at the Prince Hotel and then walk the short distance from there. The parking garage to the parlour is at the back entrance of the complex. Cupidy is open from noon until midnight.
Massage Parlours on Ratchadpisek Road
If the Cupidy Massage Parlour is not quite your cup of tea, then there are always hundreds of similar establishments (if not more luxurious) you can try such as the massage parlours on Ratchadpisek Road in Bangkok. They include Caesars Entertainment Complex, Poseidon Entertainment Complex, Emmanuelle Massage, Nataree Massage and the Copa Cabana Massage Parlour, to name but a few.
It's best to go and explore a number of these parlours before you make your final decision. Now I know this is not going to be an easy task, but if you have plenty of the time and you are not in a hurry, then it may just be well worth your while.
